Maverick Tokarev, on a video assignment for his friend, circa 2014. Happier times, before his divorce and unraveling of his life. For the geeks and nerds out there, Maverick operates a restored 1980 RCA TK-76C, a 3-tube ENG camera that records to 3/4" videotape on a portable U-Matic deck.

Bio: Maverick was born Douglas Alexeivich Tokarev on January 30, 1984 in New York City, New York to Soviet defectors Alexei Tokarev and his wife Tatiana Tokareva who had fled the Soviet Union a year before with their three children Kalash, Vlad, and Dmitry. He is of Russian and Ukrainian background and can speak Russian and Ukrainian fluently, along with English and German.

Moving to Newark, Ohio at a young age, Maverick got his nickname "Maverick" due to being the tallest Tokarev; standing at six feet, five inches, he dwarfs his brothers and parents, the tallest Tokarev being Vlad at 5 feet eight inches. Being lively and energetic, he was popular in school, and became best friends with introvert, and cynic Rob Barion, the two sharing an inseparable friendship and business partnership to this day.

But now things have not been so good to him~ In the past year he watched his life self destruct. Finding out he's Autistic, his wife left him after having an affair, taking their adopted son with her. The divorce was bitter and violent, his son being sexually molested by his ex wife's boyfriend, who Maverick brutally killed. He was badly injured, his face suffering nerve damage from being sliced by his ex's boyfriend with a knife. Suffering multiple nervous breakdowns, he turned to alcohol and painkillers which dulled his pain, but made him gain a huge amount of weight, which lead to a heart attack at 32.

Now Maverick must piece his life back together.
