Sonic Genome is kind of a complex issue, because while it is a Sonic fiction, it involves characters who are not animals, involves my own completely original universe, And involves a story of my own design. It doesn't follow ANY of the games that were made, we've already got enough fictions based on the Sonic Adventure games. I decided to do something different.

While Sonic and Shadow (who are, in this story, actually brothers) are 'natural mobians' (second generation or later) they are descended of a "race" of artificial life forms that were constructed by underground scientistsas an army to annihilate an evil alien alliance. So, no, in Sonic Genome, Shadow was never in a cryo tube.
