wow it is DARK where you are at. and my sky is pretty nicely dark, but wow it's all stars! and I need to try that furry in the sky subject again too http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11871109/ (hard to be dark with a full moon
Yeah I got the hell out of Denver area a couple months ago after 7 years of watching it get more and more packed with people and pollution.
I live in Pagosa Springs now, it's fantastic!
I really want to get out towards the Capulin Volcano area to photograph the night sky, hopefully I can get out there this winter and see some cool airglow and such

this is absolutely breathtaking. I wish so badly I could be where you are, to see stars like that. I love my little town, you can see so many more than where I used to live, but still, the light pollution is too much and quite frankly it is not nearly dark enough to see things like in your beautiful night sky. <3
When I first moved to Colorado, I came from San Diego and was completely floored by how many stars I could see in the sky at night... However, I was living in fairly close proximity to Denver and Boulder at the time and little did I know that I was only seeing a fraction of what I'd see on my first trip into the mountains.
As I became more and more obsessed with going deeper and deeper into the wilderness, I kept finding new "levels" of darkness that I had never known existed - it was mindblowing!
7 years later and I find myself finally far removed from the Front Range light pollution, and it is absolutely incredible... This scene is merely a 20min drive from where I rent a room on the edge of our small town. Having access to views like this is certainly something I will never take for granted
