On July 3, 2016 my boyfriend of 2.5 years proposed to me. He waited for Anthrocon to be officially over and asked if I would like to go on a walk with him. I wasn't feeling too good but when I told him that I could see the disappointment in his eyes and decided to suck it up and go on a walk with him. We didn't go very far: we went to an old amphitheatre, walked all the way to the convention center and down by the water, and then ended the evening (was getting dark) by going to the park across the street from our hotel. We sat down on the bench and just held eachother's hands, staring at the wonderful fountain in front of us. I could tell something was up with him; I was fearful for the worst. "You know I love you, right?" There was more that he said, but it was lost the the flood of emotions that would follow. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. He later told me how nervous he was the whole day. Of course, I said yes. I have been in love with this man for so long. I had almost accidentally discovered the box he'd had in his pocket at one point, I would have ruined the whole thing xD. He later told me that last year at Anthrocon, I told him how I felt most comfortable to be myself, surrounded by everyone who gets it and doesn't judge; even the people of the city were amazing. He told me he knew that it was the perfect place to propose.


This piece is just a representation of the proposal. It's not entirely accurate but it was as close as I could get it to be; plus the added shops in the background just helps remind me of The City of Pittsburgh. My Boyfr- Fiance seems to really enjoy the piece :) and I hope everyone who looks at it does as well.
