The security officers flooded into the room fanning out in a six-point pattern. No hostiles had been spotted so far. The building was under class 6 lock-down for the suspected presence of high value enemies of the state. This would likely be his first contact with subjects in breach of municipal code. By this point all essential personnel had been evacuated from the premise, as far as he and his team were concerned they had full authorization to use lethal force.
"Locust's detecting two heat signatures beyond the forward wall."
"Acknowledged."
"Breach and clear!"
"planting charges."
"weapons live! All suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous, attempt to subdue if possible, first sign of hostile activity... You are authorized to exercise lethal force."
"Understood sir!"
"Charges planted."
"Breach away!"
"Contact!"
But before the charges can be detonated the wall explodes from the inside. Two silhouettes rush out before the team can regain their senses. It's over before it begins, Marshall is subdued in the chaos by the first figure while the other rushes Cadence. Shots fired... A body hits the floor...
Trinity begins to regain his vision to see the unit commander on the floor next to him, his partner is across the hallway, visor cracked open. Cerberus is nowhere to be found.
He limps towards the chamber-lock, head pounding, muscles screaming in agony. He reaches for the stimpack at his knee and flips off the safety before jamming it into his chest. He can feel the chemicals surging through his arteries into the pulmonary arteries and filling the left atrium with cortical diphenodexamethasone. The rush ushers fluid oxygen into his bloodstream, he gasps but the air isn't coming from the environment. He reaches for his pistol but the firearm is missing from its holster. Undaunted he engages the teselactric core on his shock gauntlet and rounds the corner through the open chamber-lock.
The suspects are at the far end of the corridor attempting to hack the northeast maintenance chamber, from there they can escape through hydroelectric plants service tunnel into the marina below the museum. From this distance he can only identify one of the two individuals: a feline, roughly 5'6 slim build; Hardly anything unmanageable for a class-X VGDroid such as himself. He releases the safety on his shock gauntlet drawing the attention of the suspects; their choice of escape route has led them directly into a bottleneck with no anterior routes. The door isn't budging for at least 5 minutes, they have no choice but to engage the officer.
Without hesitation the feline breaks into a stride bounding towards the mechanoid rabbit. Trinity slides a metallic foot a few centimeters behind the other and engages the power piston in his lower leg with a satisfying hiss and a click. The Feline commits fully to his stride contorting his body for a violent impact, The rabbit swivels back his arm with another hiss and a click, his free hand forming an unassuming guard to his front side. The feline lifts off, the wall becomes his new runway, momentum building like a tidal wave towards his iron bulls-eye; in a blink he is airborne, body hurtling towards the motionless foe, the sum of all forces forming a potential energy of pure destructive power mere seconds from landing upon the one thing in the way of his freedom.
At the end of the hall the other figure has successfully breached the door in high time to hear the unearthly thump of a plasma discharge. All that energy released all at once, the feline would be lucky to survive such a blow, but it didn't matter now; their mission was complete, the figure slipped effortlessly into the shadow of the maintenance tunnel and was gone without a trace.
"Trinity to command, I have three officers down, one MIA, one wounded, and one captive suspect, requesting EVAC ASAP over."
"Command to Trinity we read you loud and clear EVAC is out in 10, Medvac on route in 15, Secure the prisoner, stabilize wounded officers, and scan for MIA pronto over."
"Acknowledged command over and out."
He fastened the thermobelt to the feline and tossed it's slender body over his shoulder, he could tell it was going to be a long night ahead of him..."
