As a follow-up to my fan art piece for Fanimal - and just so that some of you won't get too impatient in waiting for the hibernating bear to finally get out of bed and over to his drawing board again - here is an image he drew for me at "Hippopalooza 2005" in Tampa. (This time, said image appears in that big black sketch book of mine, instead of the usual 'fat furry' books I've been circulating around the world for years.)
Instead of worrying about being eaten by a Burmese python, 'Hubert' the hippo and 'Rocky' the rhino are more concerned about dealing with a more traditional form of Florida fauna, the alligator. 'Rob Cat' is showing the big-bellied behemoths around Shark Valley (a part of Everglades National Park), where tourists can get up close (but not too close) and personal (but not too personal) with the 'gators. But the bobcat isn't as much worried about them being bitten by the reptiles, as he's more concerned about himself getting crushed by the ponderous and panicky pair!
BTW, in case any of you out there fancy a visit to Shark Valley (where you can walk or ride a bicycle down its paved trails - in search of 'gators), check out this article (from another recent issue of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel) at the following link: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/features/health/sfl-fit0304sharksbmar04,0,2914962.story
