It took a moment for D to figure it out, but the he just held his phone to the controls and Alexa's hologram leaped into the controls and appeared on a monitor.
"Uploading into the ship's main frame." Alexa said then her eyes widened "Wow, this thing sure is complex. Hopefully I can still keep a low profile while in here."
"Good, now where's the way off this thing?" D asked "I'm pretty sure they know we're out."
"On it now." Alexa said "Head for the elevators, I'll meet you there."
D quickly left the room with Deimos, but Artison took a moment as he stared at Alexa. After she vanished too, Artison ran and caught up with the others at the elevator. It opened up to reveal a large shoot with pipes going from up to down.
"Where's the elevator car?" Deimos asked as he looked in "There should be one here."
"Elevator cars are filling with troops." Alexa's voice could be heard everywhere in the hall. "I've managed to stall them a bit. but if we want to keep hidden we'll have to just climb down the shafts to the Evac Bay."
"How-"
"Exciting!" Artison said and leaped into the shaft. He grabbed onto a pole and the pressed against the wall with his legs to brace. "Um, Spirit of Alexa? You would not harm us down this path would you?"
"Of course not." Alexa said "You're friends with Master Donovan. Besides, he'll need to take the same path down."
"You can't be serious." Deimos said as he kept looking in.
"She's not." D said and jumped down onto another pole too "Get in or get caught."
Deimos looked into the shaft still, and then finally he leaped and grabbed onto one of the poles, just above Artison.
"Down we go." D said and started sliding down like the poles of his childhood playgrounds.
Artison began to descend too, walking backwards while pressing against the wall for pressure "This is like climbing back on Terra."
Deimos just stayed silent as he slowly slid down the pipe, making sure not to touch Artison. "You two do this stuff a lot?"
"Indeed." Artison said "And you don't? How come?"
"We have elevator and tractor beams." Deimos said "We'd never have to do this stuff.."
"That reminds me though. What kind of hybrid are you?" Artison added "And how were you made?"
"I... Wait." Deimos stopped and looked down at Artison "We're trying to get out of here alive and you're still questioning what I am?"
"Well, we're safe right now." Artison said as he kept going down "Why not make most of the time."
"You know I'm right above you, right?" Deimos said glaring.
"I can also set myself on fire." Artison smiled back at him. "So were you made just for science?"
"If I tell you would you shut up till we get out of here?" Deimos asked and saw him nod "I was made for military purposes."
"Why does that sound so familiar to me?" D asked out loud "Hey Alexa, How much farther?"
"You got to move quicker!" Alexa exclaimed "One of the elevators is coming down right at you."
Artison let go of the wall and started to slide down like D was, but faster, and then D follows, and Deimos. Looking up Deimos could see lights getting stronger up above. He tried to move faster, but Artison was still in the way. The lights just got brighter and bigger, they could hear the car coming down super fast.
"Guys! Door's open." Alexa shouted "Get in!"
D could see the door just a little bit farther down, and tried to move faster. Diemos jumped off the pole and feel down the shaft, and just as the opening drew near he held onto the ledge. He pulled himself in and then D swung himself in from the pole. Artison was still on the other side of the shaft as he slid down.
"Just Artison!" D shouted "There's no time to keep sliding!"
Artison looked at how far the opening was, but looking up, he could see the elevator car just over a meter from him. He leaped off the pole, and just landed into the hall flat on his belly. "That hurt..."
"Deal with it." Deimos said "We gotta get out of here now.
"Guys we got company." Alexa said, and sure enough the elevator car stopped on their floor.
