Predators in the wild don't just eat the meat of their prey but also their blood, blood has the same amount of salt as salt water, so predators have to drink their prey's blood to get their dosage of salt.
Vampires is always attributed with them drinking blood to revitalize themselves and that's a fact an. *DERP*
The color Red is usually associated with life, because when it bleeds out and touches oxygen molecules it turns red; but when it stays in the body some scientist say its blue.
As for the Aztec Civilization they believe blood is sacred in the sense of offering it to their gods, if they did sacrifice blood and people they believe the world will come to an end.
Shamans from many cultures depending on where they live, sometime sacrifice an animal and their blood to get a sign or receive insight by the spirits, the blood and sacrifice is like a trade off, I honorably give the life of this chicken for insight. Basically its like exchanging money for getting food at the grocery store in a way. XP
And further more their was a test on mice where an old mouse was slow and not so lively, then the scientist injected it with fresh mice blood and the old mouse perked up and was lively. It turns out an infusion of fresh blood revitalizes overall. This discovery might be the bridging of some new medicine (without using real blood of course).
And now my crazy conclusion:
Although most people don't know where their food comes from but in a twisted way by eating meat their eating the life force of the animal only without blood and yes most people might find drinking blood creepy as fuck. However even our own blood can help save live by donating blood which I've done in the past.
If your lost in the wilderness with no direction and no supplies excepted having a knife of course, then you need to survive by hunting and yes like the predators you need to drink their blood to have some salt and vital minerals for your body to function properly with out them your body will slow down and eventually stop working. As for me I still wonder what Klingon Blood Wine tastes like and yes I'm sure its made out of blood with a mixture of other stuff after all their a warrior race and they need their dosage of blood wine before and after their conquest right. XP
