In Source Filmmaker, it's really easy to make PNG pictures but in Garry's Mod, I have yet to find out how to do that...
I do the command "jpeg_quality 100" every time but the screenshot still comes with compression with a bit of noticeable loss.
And yes, the title is the meaning of the acronym JPEG.

Looked it up. There's a console command that could work since it saves the pics as a .TGA, said command being 'devshots_screenshot'. To copy-paste one response I found...
"There is a console command, "devshots_screenshot". What it does, is it takes a screenshot (no shit right? lol) but instead of a .JPG, it saves it as a .TGA. There is no chance of any compression and everything you see on the screen is exactly as it will be in the screenshot. The standard .JPG screenshots actually compress individual pixels around high contrast areas, even with the quality at maximum (jpeg_quality 100). Don't ask me why, it makes no sense but somehow it saves space and that's how it works.
The way to use this in game follows
Go to your console [-see end of paragraph-] and type this exactly:
bind "\" "devshots_screenshot"

In Steam's settings, go to "In-Game" and look for and check the check box "Save an uncompressed copy".
The next time you take a screenshot in any Source game (this includes Garry's Mod), it should save a TGA file of all the screenshots you take from now on inside of the game's files. For Garry's Mod, the path should look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\screenshots
"common" in that path could also be your Steam username, and the "(x86)" only applies to 64-bit systems. Other parts of the path could vary from system to system.
You can also just right-click on Garry's Mod in your Steam's library and click on "Properties", then the tab "Local Files", then click "Browse Local Files..." and go from there.
Hope this helps. ^^
