You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, this is so lovely. I love the warm highlight on her hair and I totally relate to wearing it down like that from when I was younger and had really long hair without bangs :D it really makes me want to draw her too. You have such strong, confident lines and clean, simple shapes - both of which I wish I could do (whenever I try, I always end up carefully re-rendering everything over and over and get caught up in little details like usual).

I tend to take my artistic strengths (e.g. linework) for granted and get annoyed by the stuff I'm not so good at (colour, value, chiaroscuro, all that jazz) - we creative types are often our own worst critics, aren't we? :U

Yeah, it's the worst :C I used to do it all the time and get really depressed about it but now, I've made it a habit to acknowledge the things I do well whenever I'm feeling down about my work and it helps a lot.

I like to think that art improvement isn't only about getting better at art itself, but also getting better at appreciating one's own work. Glad to hear you've found a method to keep up your artistic spirits! :D
