Treat your hatred like a foe,
Shun it, starve it, it will go.
Treat your hatred like a friend,
Nurture, feed it, it shan't end.
But never give it home to stay,
Deep inside you, locked away.
For when you turn, then you shall find,
It, like a shadow, waits behind.
For from such things you cannot run,
Nor seek comfort in brightest sun.
No find easement near or far,
You cannot flee from what you are.
For 'less you've killed it, it's not died,
And comes the day, no place to hide,
When darkness gathers, your shadow split,
And whats inside pads out of it...

I read a lot, for I have no friends. You pick up some reaaal interesting stuff. Another of hers which is delightfully creepy is this:
Down around the town, and up about the park,
We daren't go out o' night, for fear of follow'n dark.
Don't look upon the shadows, don't think on what you've seen,
Don't tell nobody where you'll go (Or worse yet where you've been!)
For them that wakes the strangers, have naught to do but die,
So turn your back to face the wall, when they go marching by.
Apparently it's about smugglers. But I like Gideon's expression here, it's hard to figure out.
