In a alternate story line Tai Lung either didn't become evil or was spared by Po after their fight. Now as the seventh master or the Jade Palace the snow leopard works to help Po become a more formidable kung Fu warrior. Even though Tai Lung had finally excepted that he will not become the dragon warrior he still tries to help the panda become it, even if he does slightly take some amusement from some of the training methods he uses on the panda.

Right now he is teaching Po how to both remain calm in a tough situation along with escaping from an enemy's hold. So don't worry he'll either escape or be let out in either a hour or a few days.
