I wanted to do a new costume for New Years Eve, but I'd been housebound thanks to my usual winter solstice cold, so running up fibreglass facemasks was going to be out of the question for a while. I found two large sheets of plastic canvas and decided to try the stuff out and see what I could come up with.
What it developed into was the Modular Lion, a costume I can mix and match for various things like paintball as well as general wearing about. The head has a working jaw, one that is much more useful than any of those I've tried building before. and because it's made of large-gauge mesh, it's very cool and comfortable to wear, even in a hot room - or on a sunny boardwalk, like this one on Ocean City NJ.
