Vargus is the last living council member I had to draw, and the second of three OCs who got their face cut up pretty badly in the civil war. During the takeover, he was the one who kept the military at bay and caused the army to go over to Gadeth's side without much trouble. He's a dispassionate person, doesn't say much, doesn't even emote much and is much happier when there's practical work to be done. As such, he's still regularly personally involved in combat, but it's just a job. Naran seems eager to make the fight against the Reps his personal crusade? Fine, let him do most of the work then.
Life as a senator could be pretty sweet for Vargus, but then there's his daughter. She thinks it's a good idea to rebel against her father's constant assholery by turning Rep herself. Vargus is less concerned by the thought of having his own kid executed for treason than what that would do to his reputation. Naran found an interim solution by using her to unknowingly feed the Republicans false information, but she begins to take the whole thing way too seriously.
