"That's one slow ass bridge."
The wolverine spoke calmly, but his voice boomed loud and clear, echoing across the bay. Basil Darkin’s voice had the volume one would expect of a 1200ft-tall giant, and a tone of threat as menacing as his earth-shaking steps.
"I don’t suppose you think I'm to wait two minutes every time I have to cross this bay, just so you assholes can raise the stupid thing. Do you?", he asked the helicopter shyly hovering beside him.
Inside the cockpit, both the pilot and the spokesman gulped. Considering the titan’s current mood, the decision to evacuate the bridge’s length for the “demonstration” could prove to be wise. The spokesman held his microphone shaking, desperately trying to find a way to appease the giant.
"Erm... I-ideally we'd start raising it well before!" he answered, his voice coming out amplified from the megaphone outside, yet still pathetically quieter than the wolverine's. "We see you coming, send the signal, a-and it'd be fully up by the time you got here! G-guaranteed!"
The giant simply stared back at the heli, judgemental. Faking a chuckle, he warned:
"Oh, it BETTER be. Because when I get here, I'm not stopping." He said, while running his finger through the asphalt. "Bridge in my way or not, I'm not stopping. Got it?"
No response.
"GOT IT?!"
"Y-yes!" Responded the man. "Yes, Mr. Basil, sir!"
"Good." The wolverine concluded, dryly. Finally, he made the cross. The gap provided plenty of space for him to pass, fortunately. "You can go now. I'm getting a little tired of your buzzing."
The spokesman turned the speaker off, while the pilot violently pulled the chopper back.
In which I make up excuses for why there are no cars on the bridge.
A small tribute for another good friend,
basil.d. I hope you like it ^^”This has been sitting here for... god knows how long. Then I had an idea for a setting and a story, then everything flowed a little better. But before that, it was a long period of nothing. It’s scary, actually; sometimes I wonder if one day I’ll just stop and never draw anything again. But until… eh.
I like how the water reflection came out, and I’m really proud of that sky. On the other hand, the bridge itself is really shitty, and, like everything I do, it looks really unfinished in general. I wish I could stop being so lazy.
