
Went to the RRMPa in Strasburg PA and got a few pics of the Locomotives I found interesting. This is an AEM-7. Made by EMD. Nicknamed the "toaster" because, well... Look at it.

It amazes though when I see engines like this, barely 40 or so years old already going into retirement, meanwhile switcher engines even older than them that are at least 60 years old still in service on railroads like Reading and Northern, having just been rebuilt, and sent to smaller railroads, probably outliving engines like this by double their lifespan.
