I use Bristol board, which is very thick and very smooth. you shouldnt use very textured sketch paper because it sucks up the ink very quickly and the pens run out faster. Also the colour bleeds a lot. You can get special marker paper but i find it too thin and flimsy. bristol is my favourite always
