"Now that one looks like a pink fairy armadillo telling an accordion about his mother."
"Uh-huh."
"Whereas that one there is a zebra trying to eat an entire watermelon with a straw."
Judy lay back, staring idly up at the sky, creating fanciful stories about clouds from whole cloth. Technically she was lying, but what was looking at clouds but imagination after all? So she was... embellishing things a bit, she needed to. Gideon had no knack for it, all his clouds were 'steam' or 'cotton candy'. And most of the time he just wanted to lie back and 'rest his eyes' which was something she'd always associated with her father's generation. You'd think he'd have wanted to do something with his nice weekend back at Bunnyburrows rather than nap outdoors.
"What exactly are your parents up ta anyways? I thought they were s'pose to be back by now?"
"Oh probably berry picking."
She felt the fox stiffen behind her. He surely knew what the euphemism meant, maybe he was surprised she did? But honestly, she was a bunny, what did he expect? They'd be back in an hour or so, certainly in time for mom to cook that dinner she'd promised. (And, incidentally to pass on that carrot cake recipe Gideon had been after for the last eleven months.)
"At their age?"
"You can't stop love, Gid. Plus there are kids at home."
"Well if'n they didn't pick berries so much outdoors they could bake pies at home more often."
"Oh hush, they'll be back soon enough."
"When exactly, y' think?"
"When sheep climb trees."
The vaguely annoyed grunt that answered told Judy he knew that saying too. Technically sheep did climb trees, but their hooves weren't good for it and their wool snagged. So everyone, sheep included, used it to mean a good long time. It was nice to be able to use country lingo, nobody in Zootopia ever understood it.
"Well that's all I need to think about, berry picking bunnies."
"Oh like your parents don't have fun."
"Ok, that was the last thing I needed to be thinkin' about."
"Now that cloud there, it's two foxes, getting on in years, but still in love. Locked in passionate embrace they-"
"-Aw come on!"
"-says the younger fox nearby; that cloud there, by the oak tree top, the tail is on the left, knowing he lacks the stamina for such things, having given out but a few nights before after only his third time-"
"That's not how I remember it..."
"-and growing forgetful too. Such a pity."
It was hard to resist smiling as the larger mammal behind er shifted position. Sometimes it was just too easy to push his buttons. He was very fortunate she was such a nice person. He rolled forward slightly, trying to get up, but also pushing her into the long grass.
"Wait, I was mistaken. It's actually an innocent bunny about to be steamrollered by a vulpine lummox driving a bulldozer."
Suddenly two large paws grasped both her arms, pinning them to er sides. The grip wasn't firm, but was unyielding, like being held by a short, rusty-colored tree. There was a growl behind her, a noise that entered through the ears, bypassed the brain and ran straight down the spine, stoking ancient memories of an age when her kind lived short lives scurrying from larger things in the grass. Her nose twitched. Scant seconds later she felt sharp teeth and hot breath at the back of her neck.
"Wrong on both counts. It's actually a fox whose managed to pin down a smart-alec bunny and who is going to take his fine time devouring her."
"Ah. My mistake. Take his time huh?"
"Till sheep climb trees..."

The two older rabbits walked briskly down the dirt path, overgrown with summer weeds. The sun was heading towards the horizon and, though there was plenty of time, there were plenty of chores too, they were being hospitable tonight after all. As the passed one of the house fields they spotted the two shapes in the distance, lying still under a willow tree opposite the fenceline, fast asleep in the late afternoon sun. Bonnie Hopps smiled.
"That's so cute, don't you think?"
"Just as long as she still has her taser."
"Oh Stu!"
"I'm just saying!"
"They both must be exhausted. They work too hard, running a business, protecting the city..."
"Nonsense, I run a business, but I get a proper night's sleep, in bed. They just don't have the stamina of our generation. If my pa caught me napping or looking at clouds at that age he'd've given me a piece of his mind, I tell you."
In the end they let them rest, it was easier than crossing the field to wake them. Plus, they really did look quite tired and they'd be talking produce all of tomorrow. But really, it was a nice day, they should have been enjoying it more.
You drove me to this Gera! You and your lewding!
