#10: Pangoro. I love pandas. I like We Bare Bears. And I like Persona 4. This Pokemon looks like if Pan and Kanji could have a child and that's how it was born. Pancham is cute too, but seeing it become a serious and badass Pokemon is definitely worth while. I also got one early on in X/Y and enjoyed using it. But it doesn't rank any higher because of it's shiny form. It looks like someone left it in paint. It isn't ugly but it's subpar when compared to its normal form.
#9: Dragonite. When people mention Gen 1, I look back on all the Pokemon it gave us. Most people think to their starter, or maybe a legendary. For me, it would have to be the Pokemon you truly had to strive for to earn. Dragonite! It is still one of the better Dragon Pokemon we have today, and for good cause. It looks so innocent, but its super deadly at the same time. Kinda like a Yandere. Honestly it has the same problem Pangoro has in terms of list placement and shiny form. Green is a fugly color on Dragonite and it works better. I put Dragonite a little higher however because of nostalgic reasons and how you could have a Dratini handed to you in Gen 2. So I didn't have to go out of my way to rob it of its home...
#8: Feraligatr. When most people look at alligators they seem them as deadly. I share that popular view as Feraligatr comes chomping his way at Number 8. My reasons for liking him is more personal. You see, my first Pokemon Game was Pokemon Gold, and my rival had stolen a Totodile. The Gen 2 rival was always my favorite because of his development over time without losing his edge which made him tough. The only reason I don't put Feraligatr higher is because I never went out of my way to use one. I had one sure but its not the same as all the other Pokemon on this list.
#7: Samurott. What happens when you give an Otter a Samurai get up? It becomes a Samur-ott. Get it, cuz its name is.... Ugh whatever! It grew into a badass over time, and Oshawott was adorable! Not much to argue with this. Its just pretty cool to look at. and in Gen 5, it's a bold move to call them cool. I don't hate Gen 5 and in fact its one of my favorite Gens. But the some of the Pokemon were difficult to look at sometimes.
#6: Dewgong. I don't know what's with me and Water Types but a lot of them were a part of my childhood. I had a Seel back in Gold, and it evolved into one of my second strongest Pokemon ever. Plus being an ice type makes it extra chill. Haha...ha... uh....
#5: Swampert. I swear this is the last one. Honest. My starter from the last Gen I played. (Literally, I played Generation 3 last) and the Pokemon I was In the first Mystery dungeon game. He was strong and sturdy. Swampert was definitely a Pokemon I could rely on. With him getting a Mega evolution, that just made Swampert even more of a force to reckon with. (I herd u liek murder) Swampert ans Mega Swampert just look like the strong but loving type of Pokemon you can depend on when the going gets tough. Cuz the tough do in fact get going
#4: Espeon. It was a must to include an eeevolution. And what better than Espeon. Its my favorite of the bunch and has this sense of Mystery that wants you to know more. And yes, its shiny is an even fuglier green than Dragonite but it holds little weight to this Pokemon. Its just a favorite cuz it always seems aloof and you can't tell what exactly it could be thinking. Its simply mystifying...
#3: Chesnaught. Representing the grass type on this list is the Chestnut Juggernaut himself, Chesnaught. When Gen 6 came out I wanted to break out of this trend I developed over the course of the generations. I typically overlooked the Grass type in almost all the games so I felt I should add variety to my life. And I wasn't disappointed. Fennekin was cute in its early stages but became more, um... unappealing over time. While Froakie was cute and did evolve into something awesome, it got to mainstream too fast and I'm not a person for popular vote. So I went with Chespin and loved the awkwardness that came with it because such is life. And then after it became Quilladin to Chesnaught I saw it as becoming strong after breaking out of its own shell or something like that. So I have a lot of good Kalos memories with Chesnaught and I hope Sun and Moon meets my expectations.
#2: I made it a personal goal to not include Legendary Pokemon but I had to put this one on the list. Its Arcanine. I had to make that joke I'm sorry!!! Anyway, I love pets of all kinds and Grow lithe and Arcanine seem the most reliable. They seem ready to protect you at any point while also being able to relax with you and such. Kinda like Gardevoir but floofy
#1: This Pokemon holds the number one spot because its very special to me since it was my very first Pokemon and its the first Pokemon I've owned to reach Lv. 100. This Pokemon is Typhlosion. As I've said before Gem 2 was my first generation so I have a lot of sentimentality towards it. It was always such a great Pokemon and was more than a Pokemon. He was my first partner. (More details later... maybe)
