He was standing in a field that looked a lot like the one I used to spend time in after school, with Gauri and Marat. We'd see who could go the highest on the tyre swing attached to an old banyan tree.
Gauri and Marat weren't there. It was just me and the Crow.
Golden eyes set into the black-feathered face were fixed squarely on me. He was naked, and the wings on his back seemed more beautiful under the daylight. The red marks on his body reminded me of autopsy photos, after the coroner was done with the body.
