In the psych unit (long story), there was some "rec therapy" group where a therapist lady- who I'm almost convinced was Flo from Progressive- asked us to draw something that represented either our anxiety/fear, or anger/frustration. (My sympathies to anyone who may find any part of this relatable, unless you ever happened to get to meet the actual Flo, in which case I envy and salute you, lol).
In my case, each of my characters represent a member of what would be my "split personality", and Tanner Hyde here is the embodiment of one of the two most prominent ways I experience and interact with the world. Not to say that he's constantly anxious- there's much more to him (and myself) than that- but when it comes to panic and fear, no one could spiral more deeply than Tanner, and the part of me that shows through him.
