August 19th is World Orangutan Day. Orangutans are one of the four species of great ape, the only ones that live a solitary lifestyle, the only ones with red hair, and the ones who spend the most time in the trees of their home in Indonesia. However, both species are currently classified as Critically Endangered by the IUCN. This means that orangutans are in danger of going extinct. There are many conservation programs out there helping orangutans, but those programs out in the field need our help.
