I'd say it counts as being productive. This was a neat and highly entertaining slice of life piece. And over 130 pounds? Damn. Those be some big dogs in that traffic jam.

Nice little piece. Truly a slice-of-life. Very well written, the story is entertaining and has more than just a bit of personal touch. Time off might be very easy to some, very hard to some. Anyway, I enjoyed reading this. Good work.

Time off is never good for me. I become decadent and degenerate!

A Day in the Life piece... I like it.

The dogs remind me of friends of mine... they raise samoyeds, and though only about half the size of your dogs, many of them exhibit the same behaviors.

Oh, and I rarely handle vacation time much better... having spent so much of my life working, I find time-off to be bothersome, especially living in an apartment where I have no house or yard to work in.

Just because I have time off doesn't mean anything's gonna get done!

Housework is a job in and of itself. No matter how much time you try to set aside for yourself, it's easy to find new things that need to get done to fill it up.
If you accomplish something with it, writing is indeed productive. So you were productive today, at least.

It's too bad that watching television isn't productive.

Maybe I could dust and watch television...

There's something about your piece that draws me back to long, dull summer holidays from school where I had nothing to do, no-one to do it do, and longed for something to happen, yet dreaded actually having to do anything. Do I get that same vibe from you or what?

This is the first summer in a while that I'm actually taking off, so who knows..I might have grown out of all that. But I doubt it!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it..actually most of my days begin by being woken up by the dogs..not watching out for them, but opening my eyes after being stepped on to see who did it.

Your productivity really depends on your personal level of achievement. I haven't drawn anything in weeks so I definitely feel unproductive.
