True. However, to be fair, Toriel's character is part of a supposed race which opens up the potential for fan characters. In her case it's a little different than MLP's alicorns or... whatever else I can't pull off the top of my head at the moment.
Pretty sure there were more goat monsters before the human slaughtering. Still could be somewhere. Who knows?
That's also why (as irritating as it can become) it makes sense that there are so many Sonic re-color OC's. He is only but one of his kind in canon.

I knew i'd probably catch some backlash for wanting to have a fan character like this but its the first time ive ever wanted to do something like this. Since people have Renamon and Ponies and such i thought i would enjoy giving in to the trend for once to get out of my system ya know? \0 <3
Well im not so sure about that anymore... I really didn't think it would be received any differently than say all the renamon OCs, or the pokemon, or blue hedgehogs and the like that fans of those respective characters make. I just wanted it to be consistent with what i grew to like is all and what i'd expect them all to look like as they were presented. So sorry if i upset anyone, truly. Wasn't what i was trying to do.
Eh, screw 'em! You have every right to make any kind of character you want, even if it is a fan OC from a game. It can't be expected that Toriel, Asgore and Asriel are the last of their goat-dragon race, there's nothin' that says that. So I say, you do what ya wanna do and you make what you wanna make! You wanna make your own goat-mom, go for it; for all anyone knows, this character is just another member of the goat-dragon race!

As harsh as the criticism is, hey im cool with it. Maybe it will help make her better ya know? \0

I'm not trying to be harsh. Honestly I'm not. But there should be more development than an almost direct copy. Some examples I can think of off the top of my head are: (I hope this doesn't come off as sounding too pretentious...)
She's one of Toriel's race, so she would look the same, but with *several* subtle differences, not just the heart mark.
If you wanted to keep the general 'white fur' concept, you could use a different shading. All the art of Toriel I've seen uses a kind of bluish shading to show 'shadows' in her fur; you could have gone with a tannish shading, or a pinkish one or something; it would have given her a slight bit more difference.
Maybe even look up different goat fur patterns and choose one you like that lets her keep her cute/sexy appearance, but again makes her different enough to not draw that 'this is a shameless copy' reaction. White with black/tan/blonde spots? Some color with a white belly and chest, and a heart shaped pattern on her rear? (Would fit with the heart on forehead theme).
A different hairstyle would keep her the same, yet patently different (I think you did that here, but I can't remember off the top of my head).
Different clothing, or at least a different styling of clothing with a similar design would help make this character someone else to people's eyes. A loose shirt and shorts (which I personally think would look cute) are ideas.
Maybe a different horn shape? Hooves instead of paws? (Does Toriel have hooves?)
With my persona being a black dragon he's as generic as they come, but I've worked to give him details that (I hope!) make him stand out from the rest enough to be noticed. I'm not against copying something in a general kind of way... but I feel that to make something your own, you should add something you created yourself, and not just something small like a heart mark. I'm always willing to help design a character in more depth, and have done it for several of my friends in the past, helping them visualize their persona a bit better, or flesh out a character they wanted to create. If you'd like, maybe I can help you here. Let me know if you'd be interested.

I don't quite see the pink, but that could be my monitor. And I *did* mention that I might be wrong about the hair. As for the wardrobe? It looks different... but not enough to say it's *entirely* different.
As I mentioned in the previous comment though, I'm not trying to hate on this; it's just not usually so well looked apon for people to do this kind of thing and even now with you saying this, it's still too close a match... a bit *too* subtle, which is the problem. And I *never* said it was a bad picture. Your art style is as good as ever. I hope you understand people aren't talking about you or your art skills, just how this character is a little too close to the original?

Well let me say it plainly then.
I still think your art is great. I don't have a single artistic problem with this picture. Anyone who is hating on you for drawing a clone of Toriel as if doing so redefines you as an artist probably isn't someone you should be paying attention to.
