Devan’s more daemon appearance is more often to be revealed to someone with a high spiritual perception or consciousness. It is very rarely shown outside of Devan’s own domain and it is rather difficult to tell if the other appearances are simply an illusion placed on top of this or if they are a separate shape. Its size can vary depending on conditions and the area but the smallest it has even been is 14’3” at a full standing height.
It may appear insectoid or arthropod like in appearance with roughly five sets of limbs and its shell. The shell covers the body and only appears softer at the torso and abdomen, while this is more similar to hardened and more malleable skin (in that area) it retains the same strength as the rest more than capable of holding against steel. The rest of note is the ‘helm’ which is shown elsewhere as well but is apart of Devan’s body and his six functional eyes upon it. The last to note here is the four or so tongues which have sharp bristles on the inside to latch onto someone and fill the attacked site with most often a paralyzing poison.
Devan may be seen with a pearl of sorts in his belly button. It also rumored that Devan’s shell is capable of changing colors and in dim purple lighting it may give off a rainbow of colors.

Abilities & Weaknesses:
Most of Devan’s special abilities revolve around stuffing, gluttony or food. In some cases Devan may be able to create or use different ones that have not been applied or even listed here depending on his current state of power and location, such as inside his own domain.

Starting with abilities that apply or effective himself more directly there are fewer. Such as being able to ingest and digest many manner of things and objects and of course the capability for devouring and consuming spirits, souls. Etc. Having the ability to trap things in an infinite digestive system inside himself by selection of doing so once the object is already inside. There is also the matter of Devan’s hard shell or skin, which is capable of remaining unscratched by steel and even break such.

Moving onto abilities that may afflict or at least less directly affect Devan. He is able to drive or influence creature’s or people’s hunger to the point of feeling near starvation and is capable of creating cravings or hunger for a specific target or focus and in the process of influencing may find out what the person may actually crave. Similar to that Devan can influence or help control a victim’s digestion to a certain degree, mostly in the case of speeding it up and causing one’s stomach to stretch and create more and more room to be stuffed without harming said targets. Beyond that Devan can summon any manner of food desired and too large quantities often to a feast, often preferring to do so in a sphere of sorts around the victim. Devan also can shoot out food in a beams by creating a triangle with their hands and pointing it toward the victims open maw or mouth the beam will likely keep the mouth open while flooding in foods of all sorts often to the victims preference (and victims can be summoned up as well but often rarely). The food

created or summoned by Devan can be manipulated to become fattening or hypnotic and even capable of healing injuries (though in large quantities and often taking a lot of energy from both parties). There is also the matter of having inflating breath, similar to a cartoon.

Last but not least Devan can create contracts of all sorts that may bind a person’s soul to him, to a service or so on. Often this contract is completed or symbolized by being complete by eating the food Devan offers during the contract. The contract may even imbue the other party with abilities related to Devan if they chose or rather accept to join Devan’s ranks and become a direct servant of him. The abilities would have to reflect one of the categories: Stuffing, Gluttony, Starvation, Fertility or Defense and are likely to be weak at first but grow stronger through longer service or even more gained.

Devan is also capable of shifting through the planes of reality mostly to a minor extent. He can teleport or rather shift from his own domain in either the underworld or spirit world to the plain realm that many mortals walk about. Technically he may planar shift to places he is familiar with more accurately with said familiarity or if someone summons him there, otherwise Devan may pop up randomly in the middle of nowhere.

On the more mundane side it is occasionally interesting dinner conversation to note that Devan is capable of speaking four tongues, even at the same time: Aramaic, Arabic, English and Dutch.
Weaknesses of note:
Devan may be effected depending on according to the surroundings of which he is being summoned in.

If summoned in or upon an encirclement in the form of a star, Devan is not capable of lying (this doesn’t prevent him from leaving said shape however). In the shape of a diamond limits Devan to appear in the form that the summoner wishes among the ones Devan is capable of, the summoner has to announce such the form of course.

Offering Lichen or placing it around protects the summoner from being eaten, it varies really but it is often claimed to be one lichen per minute. Having a crow inside the room binds Devan to the spot for up to forty minutes, only when being summoned. Offering an infant to Devan will guarantee that Devan cannot cause direct harm to the summoner (however this still often angers him, and thus he tends to send someone else to do so or drag the summoner into the spirit or underworld if the summoner is caught again).

Summary:
Devan is a spiritual being often related to that one of demonic origin as he was reformed in the underworld. Whether or not this qualifies him to be a demon, he is unsure of and rather tries to forget or move focus away from the past as a mortal pioneer. Having suffered a slow and terrifying death of starvation and hypothermia up in some mountain chain among many others. It was said that his hunger was so great, that once descending into the underworld he immediately began eating apart the other demonic residents and scratched and climbed his way to becoming a Count with his own small domain, transforming over a few centuries.

From such Devan has a small domain somewhere between or both in the Spiritual and Underworld like plains. Devan for the most part avoided conflicts and politics but has sent a few warriors as requested for some contractual favors or to Dukes in turn for some form of gain. Currently his domain consists of 8,000 or so of various people, ages and so on. Devan himself consider himself a father too many who take residence in his domain and carefully protects the children who were dragged or arrived in said domain. In his previous life Devan was a rather loving father of eight, though many had of course died and secretly he wishes to find them again.
