Just something I threw together for practice. Neither the linework nor the coloring are particularly great (especially since I didn't bother heavy-lining this, which is where I do a lot of my ink cleanup), and Red Rain here is a bit off-model, but eh. Practice makes perfect, and it's fun misusing CS4 to make tacky backgrounds. I really need to get back in digital-art shape, so why not just enjoy myself and mess around for a while as I re-learn everything I forgot since last spring?
For the reference, he's a species known as an "arcin," whose weird posture is best noticed at any angle other than directly head-on. I also actually drew out his legs and dewclaws beneath his robe, only to erase them when cleaning up the pencilling. C'est la vie. Those are feathers by his bottom; arcins have long, horselike tails with feather-fans growing just above them. He has other feathers on his outer thighs and biceps, but they're (obviously) covered by his clothing.
Red Rain looks feminine, but he's actually a heterosexual man, believe it or not. Guy's basically a male version of the traditional RPG Staff Chick. He's peril-bait, basically.

More that he's just really, really skinny; his robes make him look bigger, and while the corset does help him keep a girlish figure (in more ways than one), it's mostly to keep his clothes from billowing everywhere like an umbrella in the wind. In his defense, he's also something like seven feet tall. There's a pretty significant curve in his lower spine that is hard to see from this angle, but that's why his ass is slightly above his waist.
Although the skeleton thing's a pretty cool idea, and I may consider it!
