My latest piece of test equipment. It is a Philips Electro Special model GM4140/B made in Germany during the war.

Measures Capacitance & Resistance using a eye tube.

Oooh, i love GDOs!
I have a nice collection of them. The ultimate one is a Megacycle Meter kit made by Measurements Corp.

Though, i think the one I like using the most is a Knight kit G-30.

I like the look of the AN/PRM-10 meter. Military gear is always built well as well. But a lot of the military gear doesn't go down low enough in frequency. A lot if it bottoms out at 2mHz. There's always harmonics I suppose.

Yeah, the AN/PRM-10 is a very good one. I like how each coil has more circuitry to peak the performance for the frequency range.

Unfortunately, many only go as low as 1.5 to 2 mhz. The ones that go lower are too few.

I'm mostly interested in HF gear anyway, so 1.5-2mHz is low enough for me really. But I wanted one that was down into the average IF range just in case.

I don't think I will use a GDM very often anyway, so the little Eico should cut it.

That is amazing!
Actually, Philips is/was a company in the Netherlands, which of course, was invaded and occupied by Nazi Germany.

Really a cool useful find! ^_^
