I got bitten this weekend, and I'm only stopping now because I have to be up in six hours to go to work.
Jia wanted to go to Fabricland to pick up some craft supplies when I suddenly had the urge to act upon my wish to create a fursuit. I went in and found an incredibly plush grey material, I picked up 2 meters of it and a meter of white fur to go with it, and sat down to work on Friday night. I worked through Saturday and Sunday, and here's where I am now. I still have to make the neck and arms to go with the partial suit (not enough material to make a full blown suit, though I kind of wanted to start small). I didn't want to make my character for my first suit, so I just sort of sketched this guy up. He's unnamed, so if you can think of something more appropriate than "fuzzy dragon", then give naming him a whirl.
I'll likely be posting him for sale once I'm ready to take another stab at creating another suit. I'll have progress pics up to this point as well as more pics as he comes to completion soon. =3
EDIT: Found a name!
Seeing how he's a cold temperature dragon (a snow dragon if you will), I thought of using a name of a producer of icewine. The first one I thought of using was Tinhorn, because he has tin jewelery on his horns, but I realized I hate adjective-noun names. The better name came out to be Pillitteri (another icewine producer here in Canada), so Teri for short. That way Jia or I can wear the suit and it remains gender-neutral. EVERYONE WINS! :D

There just happens to be a producer called "Tinhorn." It's serendipitous if only because he has tin jewelry on his horns. :3

I started with plastic mesh, taped together for sizing and proportion, then replaced the tape with hotglue, trimmed and hotglued soft foam (the yellowish stuff they use in pillows and mattresses) over the entire mesh, trimmed it to the shape you see, covered the whole thing in masking tape, drew on the seams with a marker, used a razor along the trimlines, transferred the masking tape to the fabric (pleather for the horns first), loosely trimmed the fabric around the trimmed masking tape sections, hotglued the material to the apropriate sections, trimmed, touched up, drew full irises on 1/14th mesh, doubled it up, hotglued them to the inside for the eyes, cut out pleather for the eyelashes, eyebrows, and nostrils, sculpted teeth and gums using sculpy, baked and then painted the sculpy, hotglued the teeth in, and voilla.
I'll probably release an in-depth (less comma-splicey) tutorial in the near future.

The stuff I used for the eyes is 1/14 mesh of some sort. I picked the stuff up at Micheal's (it's a big expensive craft store). It was in the thread section, though I had to double it up to keep the eyes vibrant, and not so see-through. Visibility's not too bad (I've been inside fursuit heads with poorer visibility).
