I swear, nothing ever looks as good on the computer compared to seeing it in person. Maybe it would do more justice to just take a photo? Mm, I dunno

Dunno if it will help you, but when I scan Traditional drawings I make a new copy layer of the drawing and put it on greyscale and then play with the layer opacity and blending to make them the closest of the original. Working with the levels helps too :P
