It actually was not as bad as other conventions. At Anime Expo (Los Angeles) this year, the Artist Alley was in a repurposed parking garage in the building. The A/C ALSO was not working, but the tables had only 1/3 the space between rows.

Even on Comiket Day 3 (which was a monstrosity crowd-wise), it was easy to find a larger space to get some breathing and fresh air. It was still exhausting to walk around so much to visit all the tables, but at least I didn't feel like I was about to die with no possible exit.
