FINALLY... they will be out of the rain and I can stop having to draw as much rain and as much shields. Granted there's still story to go.
However I did skip on a few scenes to get the story moving. ( there was supposed to be another scene in the forest of them jumping over a ravine... but I just didn't have the patiance for it anymore ).
Another thing to note is that this part of the story is based on something that happened to me IRL:
When I was very yung, my grandmother took me with her to vist some land we own in the hilly wilderness ( to see if the plum trees there had any fruits ). It was several hours hike by foot to the area. On our return trip we got cught by a storm ( it was THANKFULLY not a hail storm ). We had to take cover from the storm on the porch of an abandoned house in our way. And we stood there until the storm passed.
The setup here is as I remember the area. COurse Draghi's too big for a porch, so they are taking cover in the animal shed.

Did they go back in {Terrestrial} time? I know we very see thatched roofs in the U.S. -- American roofers would cost a fortune.
I wonder if you could create rain and rain-and-hail layers in your graphic editor? Even the free paint.net lets you create layers of almost any sort.

nope, very much still in the present. such relics still lie abandoned in the more remote areas, as people moved to the cities, and the people left behind died out. As stated in the description, this is more or less how I remember the place from my childhood memmories. It's probably a lot more run down these days but probably still there.
I guess it also helped that we were ( and probably still are ) a less developed country. Communism did forcefully modernise and industrialsie things, but mostly in the cities, and they atempted ( and succeded for the most part ) to move the population in to cities or much more accessible areas.
And yes, the rain and hail and the wet effects are all made on separate layers... it's still a chore to do them though.
