Little something I put together as flora/fauna for the stardragon world. An open species.

ORKI - pronounced <Or-Kee>

They are some weird hybrid of both flora and fauna. Probably created by some crazy starshooter.

• Primarily raised as pets. They make good companions, but are ill-suited as guardians as they lack teeth or claws.
• Very friendly and affectionate. Also loyal.
• About as intelligent as a dog.
• Require sun and water. They rely on photosynthesis to make their own food. If they don't get water regularly, they will wilt and die. If they don't see sun for several days they will also wilt away eventually and die. If kept indoors pr underground, invest in a UV lamp to make sure they get the sun they need for photosynthesis.
• When frightened they release a sticky and quite smelly slime. To avoid them being afraid of EVERYTHING, take them out for socializing and becoming familiar with the rest of the world.

Visual details
• Almost all orki have "true blue" photo-receptors, ie "eyes". Occasionally they will have "poppy red" "eyes".
• Colors are typically those found on Earth's many different orchids.
• Fur patterns resemble canine or orchid patterns.
• "Noses", "mouths", "inner ears" and "paw pads" are all the same color. Typically an earthen color.
• Tails are like banana leaves and usually a gradient of 2 greens.

• Are prone to some fungi. Sun will usually resolve the issue.
• Neither male nor female, yet both. They reproduce like all flowering plants. Pollen and stamen resulting in seeds.
