Exactly. Concept is there, but a lot of the writing falls a bit flat.

Ah. No, I still enjoy it for the most part, but there are definitely things that I don't really like about the franchise as a whole.

Well, I kinda have the same issues with Narnia along that vein. At least hyenas don't have the kind of historical demonification that wolves do. Literally, in some cases

Most of my problems comes from how the writers can't seem to come up with a non pure evil hyena character and how corporate has continually re-booted the franchise's canon for what feels like no real reason other than a way to make more $. It's like Disney should have bought DC instead of Marvel.

It never appears in TLG, but the line is a parody of "You know nothing, Jon Snow" from Game of Thrones.

Unfortunately, she never did, other than some off hand comments about Simba being a foolish male. She needs to say "You know nothing, Prince Kion" sometime in the series.
