My Sister and I went to Harmony, CA yesterday, which is entirely populated by artists of one stripe or another. Population 18, elevation 175. With a few shops open to visit, we chose the glass blowers shop for our main interest and watched as an artisan made a beautiful bottle. I may go back. They offer a lesson for $150 where you actually blow your own bowl or vase from start to finish. Of course the only catch is , you have to go back the next day to pick it up because it needs to cool overnight in a special cooling oven in order not to crack. Or I suppose they'd send it to you, but it's only less than 30 miles from home and a good excuse to visit the coast 2 days in a row. It's only a mile or two from a large state beach of cliffs and tidepools.
Anyway....point is, I saw this amazing glass fox in their shop that the man who owns the shop had made, and he gave me permission to photograph it. I'd have loved to take it home, but the $4500 price tag told me I didn't really need it after all. ;3

Indeed, That's what I like about it. I've seen some Really Awesome works like that , that appeared to be made from one solid piece of glass....though they lacked the "Furry" look, instead looking very "Streamline".
As for the handling of This piece.....I would be concerned about the small spears breaking off. :o
