I couldn’t wait anymore.
I left home. I left without a word, without anything. For a long while, I followed his trail. First his usual haunts. Then the places he’s mentioned to me. Places he’s dreamed of going. Places we planned to visit….
It’s so weird when you build a life with someone and they just disappear. It is like, your world leaves with them. Do they know what they did? How you hurt? How cold it is at night without their warmth to keep you safe?
Many times I was told to give up. Settle down. Find a nice man who can bring me happiness. Lija, my love, they don’t know me. They don’t know that love doesn’t come and go like the spring. It doesn’t wilt like the rose. It is like a tree. It will wither, and sometimes feel dead, but it cycles back around, and blooms just as beautifully, and it grows with every season. That is what love is. True love…

Through the flurry, the feline saw a massive form. It was hunched over, growling, and snarling. For a moment, she held her breath, one unsure moment, she was afraid, until it turned toward her. In a moment it rose, towering over her. She knew. She could feel him. His heat. His heart.
She looked up into his eyes, raising a paw towards his muzzle. His form was different, but she knew.
“Finally found you. You remember me, don’t you…?” She paused, the creature that was so familiar to her, looking distant, feral. “Please remember, Lija…”
