This one is WAAAAY out of left field and is a blast from the past. We stroll down Memory Lane as we take a telepipe from Pioneer 2 down to the surface of the planet Ragol and into the world of Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst with 2 original characters belonging to myself and my best friend.
HUcaseal Android No. 3b-n1 (or Ebony as she prefers) & HUnewearl Ivory Alexis Prescott, partners since their first fateful meeting at the Hunter's Guild, were originally paired together as someone's ill attempt at humor. Irony aside, the 2 became inseparable after someone at the Guild botched one of their early missions and ended up accidentally sending them on a high level "Endless Nightmare" mission. This saw them facing wave after wave of monsters much, MUCH stronger than them without any chance of reinforcement. With Ebony suffering massive system-wide damage and Ivory repeatedly teetering on the edge of death, they managed to pull through only with a healthy dose of luck and by relying heavily on each other for their very survival. As a result, they now trust each other implicitly and never take Hunter's Guild missions alone, having adopted the motto, "Never one without the other."
In this portrait, a handful of years have passed and the 2 of them, while still partners, are no longer amateurs, having progressed substantially as Hunters. Here, they've accepted a "Mop-Up" mission that has taken them to the depths of the Caves to exterminate the rampant infestation of Altered Beasts therein.
