I generate my tones on Photoshop, using Filter - Pixellate - Colour halftone
If you set the first number to the size of dot you want, then all other numbers to 45, it makes your grey into a tone. It also works with gradient ^^ if you make a black/white gradient and then do colour halftone, it makes it a tone.

Thank you! I used a slightly different method in photoshop (I converted image to bitmap) and I really like the final result, and also, that you can control the amount of dots. But I decided to use another software, to make screentones more varied (to make mixes, when background has larger dots, and smaller dots on characters), but there is moire problem ;_; I think, I have to use the old screentone method through the photoshop hehe but thanks anyway! *-*
