Let's give a hand(HAHAHA) to
Kiwifie for a a guest modern fanfiction starring Nyxis and Eflasia! (and love on the original here! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21004578/ )
“Tell me you didn’t know.”
Her tone was almost kind, understanding. Of course Eflasia didn’t know. She couldn’t have known. With just a simple word this would all be cleared up and things would be normal again. But her friend wouldn’t answer her, wouldn’t meet her eyes, just stood frozen, gnawing her bottom lip.
“TELL ME YOU DIDN’T KNOW.”
Eflasia recoiled as if she had been slapped, her eyes wide in a terror that was strangely alien to Nyxis, despite their many years of friendship. The silence was thick and choking; Nyxis’s fingers twitched with the desire to move, to rip the words from her throat. Finally Eflasia broke the silence.
“It was my job Nyxis, I didn’t have a choice”
Her voice was strained and desperate, lacking any trace of her usual defiance. A wave of nausea washed over Nyxis until she could taste the bile in the back of her throat. The girl in front of her wasn’t Eflasia. It was something dark and sinister; and evil that had burrowed under her childhood friend’s skin and devoured everything good and pure in her until there was nothing left. The same as all the others.
—–
She expected it to be more difficult, for her to feel a certain amount of regret as she drove the blade into Eflasia’s chest. Instead she simply felt an overwhelming sense of clarity, as if with each organ ripped from the cavity tore with it the sickness and corruption the world had infected her with. A gentle smile crossed her face as she imagined her waking and thanking her, like she had years ago playing the sleeping princess awoken by a handsome prince’s kiss.
