"We would have been in the battle hours ago... We should have... But these heavy metal beasts keep getting stuck in the mud! I don't see how we'll win this war if half of our armor can't get through a potato field!"
-- William Burns, Model C Tank Driver
"I hate loading this thing, these shells are heavy. And why is the loading door so complicated?"
-- Frank Whittle, Model C Tank Loader
"Repairs are a mess in the mark threes. Those side skirts are difficult to open and there ain't a lot of room once they are open. The mark ones and twos were much easier."
-- Jessie Doyle, Model C Tank Commander
I am...so....so.....SO proud of this picture. It took me several months, on and off, to make the tank. This is a Model C Mk III, its main trait is its completely covered tracks. Mk I and II, which I have also made, have more exposed treads. I also have made a Model A and Model A2 as well as planned for a Model B and D. I'm practically making a tank line.
The Model C is a heavy tank designed to engage other tanks. Its cannon packs a hard punch at the expense of mobility. It has a 4 man crew: a driver, commander, aimer, and loader. It has 2 machine guns: one in the front of the hull for the driver and one on the right side of the turret for the commander. The main cannon is a bit too large for the turret though. The gunner cant stand behind the cannon breech to load it, or else it would kick back into his chest. To fix this, the cannon has a bottom feeding reloading mechanism and the loader sits below the breech. Its a new invention, but its clunky to operate. It ejects the spent shells out the left side of the turret.
I hope to use these tanks in a video game I would love to create. You'll be seeing more renders in this style as I create and test how each of them look.
Tank and tank traps were built in Lightwave 2015. Scene created and rendered in Vue 2014. Heavy editing in Photoshop CS3.
