From your Egyptian archetecture and heiroglyphics, to your celtic knotwork and period-specific clothing and weapons, to this, and more, you do what too few artists here do: you refrence pre-existing cultures and ACCURATELY replicate them in your art. Those symbols really make the image pop! Daringly cute feline, too. :D
In short? YAY! ^_^

Yes, I do research things for my illustrations :) Whilst they're hand-drawn (but then again the actual glyphs have a 'untidy' nature about them) they really are the glyphs for the 19 months of the Mayan year; starting just to the right of her ear and working round clockwise, Pop, Uo, Zip, Zotl, Zee, Xul, Yaxkin, Mol, Chen, Yax, Zac, Ceh, Mac, Kankin, Muan, Pax, Kayab, Kumku and Uayab. The first 18 were 20 days long, Uayab at the end was 5 days long. Furries _and_ educational too ;)
