Just to give some perspective, those buildings in all the way in the back, that is the ambassador wolf enclosure. All of the enclosures at Mission: Wolf are about 1 acre each and hold between 1 and 2 wolves each. This place is a sanctuary for wolves and wolf dog hybrids that were either going to be put down or were rescued. The Playground I'm in right now is an enclosure that has been in the works for over a decade. With the help of the Wildheart Foundation, Colorado Springs, and their members/volunteers they have been able to finish up the enclosure. It took us about 5 weeks to finish it, mostly putting up a 14 ft fence. It was a lot of work but well worth it since they are estimating it is one of the biggest enclosures in North America at 25 acres. The spot I'm standing at is close to the gate near the bottom of the hill, so there is quite a bit more to it. This will let Mission: Wolf to rotate all of the wolves through the Playground to let them have a big enough area to actually get a full run in and with the rotations will let them get some more contact with their neighbors.
