I haven't done one of these for a while. This is Professor Shreve, who will be appearing in The Epsilon Project, probably towards the end the month.
We gave him a costume very much in the mould of Abel from DMFA. At one point it was very, very Abel-like, including those awkward rings on the stockings. While I can easily see other 'cubi in SAIA thinking "Abel's outfit looks good, I want some of that too", having an identical outfit on someone who also has the rare dual wings felt a bit too derivative, even though Abel is a cat and Shreve is a sloth.
I'm still not quite settled on his fur colour, or whether he should have hands vs claws. Personally I strongly prefer the hands (if I had claws I'd probably shapeshift hands anyway). But I am interested in what people think of that, and especially the two colour schemes I've shortlisted.
Earlier I had him blue. It looked quite nice, but since Professors Falkirk and Jevex and Headmistress Illiath are blue, and the official uniform for professors is also blue it was making a bit of a strange pattern. ( "Well, your credentials are perfect. But you're not blue so unfortunately I can't hire you." )
I'm still torn whether the stockings should be black, or uniform blue.

SAIA in DMFA is pretty open. Lecturers of any race seem to be welcome as long as they're good at what they teach, happy to teach members of an unpopular race, and not going to cause trouble.
Dan, for instance, is taught mental control by a mythos who has similar faculties to a 'cubi, but isn't one. Brady (a Being) is one of the lower-level combat instructors. IIRC there's also a couple of Demons also as combat instructors, Quill being the head of department.
I would expect Illiath's school would be the same for the most part, though they would have to be a lot more cautious when vetting staff since they don't have Fa'Lina's precognitive abilities.

The red fur color scheme is definitely a step in the right direction but there's also something about it that… bothers me. It could just be that the only occurrence of black is the stockings so it feels sort of unbalanced, so I recommend either distributing the black more, or just sticking with blue stockings instead. I also think maybe his hair color should be slightly darker so it can contrast his fur a bit more.
As for the hands vs. claws thing… I would definitely shapeshift hands because I can only imagine what it must be like writing like that. While I'm not sure if it would ever be relevant, but if he did have claws as a base opposed to hands, they make an ok natural weapon in the event he can't use any powers. But also that's an extra detail that's probably 100% unnecessary, so… probably just hands.

Noted with the hair colour. I might even try turning that black and see how it looks. With the lack of black, I'm not quite sure if you're thinking of his fur colours, or the outfit. The blue theme for the outfit is actually the school colours, so I'm not sure how far I can stretch changing it.

That said, she went over to black leather gloves the following day: http://projectfuturecomic.com/epsil.....hp?strip=03-02
In this, blue latex gloves and a black leather bracelet/collar: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18859991/
...so yes, there seems to be a bit more leeway than I remember. I could, for instance make the belt and the ends of the sleeves black.

I like the blue latex and the red fur. As for the claws, apparently in DMFA they can be flexed like fingers? http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1260.php I would go with the claws regardless; they make him unique, as everybody else has hands.
Well, they make him the same as Brady. And I don't know how much of that is because that's how things are in DMFA, and how much of it is from his basic character design prior to the cameo.
To be sure, Pegasus in the Blunt Object Brigade has hands where Dark Peg has hoof-claws. I was very tempted to give him gloves or something to fudge the issue.
