Looking at these they really carry that classic alien vibe. If I didn’t know these were from war of the worlds I’d think these were concept art for something paying homage to it. You did a great job of capturing the feel they had on the cover of the old musical album, the movie (which I didn’t watch but I gather it sucked and isn’t worth it...) and other classics alien vibes. Going to be honest, you’re design kind of reminds me of the Ing from Metroid Prime 2, and a little like something called a Nexosporidium Walker from the Destroy all Human’s series. I think that’s is, I’ve never played the game. Still great job on the designs.

It is sorta based on the musical and the movie (It did suck but the tripods were good.) But I was largely inspired by the artwork on the Galaga Arcade cabinet.
