She was originally going to be a hyena. Then I remembered the strip relies on her being attractive. Sure, I've seen attractive hyenas on FA, but bunnies are more easily recognized as attractive by more people.
(Now that I've typed "hyena", this is bound to show up in search results for that species. I wish there was a way to exclude this from those searches.)
