Okay, I just found out something that makes me feel honestly really stupid.
I was looking for my prices and I found the top sheet that's from 2013. Those prices are HIGHER on average than my current prices. I also haven't raised my prices since February of this year.
...
Just. I'm letting that sink in.
I've always wanted to avoid being one of those artists who is impossible to commission because the prices are far too high, but I think at this point I need to raise my prices. I'm currently living completely off of my art and have to make over a thou per month to survive. I'll also soon be attending graduate school so I'll have even less time to do personal work.
I'm just a little angry at myself for keeping my prices so stagnant and even LOWERING them, though my quality has improved markedly. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm going to need to make a change. I hope that this doesn't ruffle too many feathers, but if I don't I think I'll be shooting myself right in the foot.
And let this be a shoutout to other artists: Don't underprice yourself. Know your worth.

Speaking honestly, yes, your prices are startlingly low and you are totally justified in raising them. Yes, it's a shame from a customer's point of view, but you need to afford to live too - you wouldn't be raising them so you could put spinning gold rims on your third Jaguar, you'd be raising them because you're one of the most well known and respected artists in the furry fandom, and you're producing extremely high quality work for a comparatively meagre price.
Now, granted, I say all this as someone who was lucky enough to receive a commission at those lower prices, and wouldn't necessarily be able to afford higher ones. But plenty of people still will be able to, and that's just the way it is.
Thanks for all the fantastic work you do. ^^

I think "the works" and "wing-it" should definitely be more expensive, maybe +30-40%?
Also, you used to do these monochrome sketch + shade things like:

I think anyone would be happy to pay $120 for one of those (myself included...) and would be popular, assuming you like doing them alright!

I think you should raise your prices, but something to consider is that if you get 2 customers at $40/ea and only 1 customer at $60/ea, you're making more money by keeping your prices low.
I think you're worth more than what you charge now, but you would know how the market reacts better than I. If lowering your prices way back when helped you stay afloat, you shouldn't be mad at yourself for that.
