I know very well that they're can be asshole commissioners and hope you don't let them bring you down . But I also know there are artists who are also assholes . I hope you don't be like them . Anyway hope you have a great day and have fun drawing commissions.

well, i find it better to talk with the artist rather then demand something. seeing they are usually the ones with more experience, and holy fuckdid i get some good designs with going with their intuition

There was an artist an ex of mine commissioned of my fursona. After he paid $70, the artist sent him a picture of a pink fox that he had already drawn. He said he would not draw my fursona, because it wasn't creative enough.

and he happily charged 70? what an ass!

Whenever I get commissioned, I always try to keep this in mind and really, the only time I do experience some frustration is if the person doesn't give me a clear description of what they want. I had this problem earlier this year where a guy who commissioned me kept telling me to change so many things and after 6 tries, I had to throw in the towel .__.

Yea, this comic applies to decent customers only. There are people who ask for changes separately instead of listing it all at once. Or, even worse, they send you vague descriptions and few inconsistent reffs. That's awful

Yeah, my situation was the last one you said. It was like I'd show the final product, he'd he didn't like how so and so turned out, I'd redo it, then he'd criticize something else and it just went on and on. It took me 6 retries before I just gave up and refunded him. Worst experience ever. :/

He should have been asking for changes at the sketch level, not final product :x

You should at least charge him half the price for the time you wasted

I probably should've but it was the first time it ever happened to me and I wasn't exactly sure how to handle it... :/ But you know, you live you learn. That's why now, I won't take a commission if the person has no idea what they want. :x
