What's the point of wearing any swimwear in a swimming pool (or beach) for that matter? ;)
Well, because you need to wear something (as public nudity is still frowned upon to say the least), and on a chilly sub 10C (50F) winter morning in Dallas, wearing something that keeps you warm while swimming is perferred, that's what wetsuits are designed for. In fact, we were the only people that even went in the pool throughout Furry Fiesta as far as I noticed.
That and why not. ;)
F.Y.I. Lots of people wear wetsuits to a swimming pool, for training purposes to get used to the gear prepare for triathlons/open water swimming), to keep yourself warm on a cold day etc. Then again, maybe that's more common here in New Zealand than elsewhere. We love our outdoor water-activites too much.

It was actually rather comfortable, seeing as Furry Fiesta was held in February in Texas so it's cold wintery weather outside (no more than 10C/50F I'd say air temperature outside, and cooler in the water)... if anything the wetsuits kept a couple of Snow Spottycats warm. ^_^
