except the ba'ku looked like average joes in fact i did not see one adonis like build amongst them, they where a very spiritual hard working people who thanks to some odd radiation did not age beyond a certain point so they had a few hundred years to perfect a balanced harmonious society and develop mental disciplines, and it was hardly perfect if they had been perfect the son'a would never have come in to being, lets not forget that due to their in ability to die of old age on the planet they could have 30+ years to learn crafts and skills and take centuries to hone their mental abilities, so the Ba'ku are hardly a valid example comparing the Ba'ku to the na'vii is like trying to compare pokemon to star wars it dose not work.

in full agreement with you there i think many people seem to forget that in agrarian and hunter gather cultures there was no room for some one to gain any weight that was not muscle, if you got fat and slow then you got killed by predators while out hunting or gathering, and the fact is the na'vii where not human for all we know they may not even have been capable of gaining fat i mean for fuck sate they had a skeleton that was reinforced with naturally occurring carbon fibre their bodies also processed proteins differently the fact is trying to place human standards...sorry let me rephrase that MODERN human standards on to a fictional alien race is just plain stupid, especially since the so called perfect people keep bitching about is similar to how hunter gather humans where like all men and women would have been more muscle than fat due to the life style, with deformities, illness and weakness resulting in ones death by exposure, predators or illness, so yer i agree mile tall trees jumping and running no way in heck would any but the oldest na'vi have much fat on their bodies.

Regardless, their body types were still extremely homogenous. All equally lean, not one that was more robust or had at least a layer of fat. Genetics affect that. Well, apparently not in fiction...
