...That is probably the most ridiculous excuse to shoehorn diapers into a scenario that I've ever heard. If you desire a physiological cause, have him be relatively 'fresh' for a corpse - and still 'leaking' (as disgusting as that is to think about) making it necessary to wear those undergarments to catch anything dribbling out. If you're OK with a more psychological reason, go with him having a natural affinity for the Necromantic aspects of magic, but gradually losing the taste for death and decay in favor of life and joy. This is impossible, however, so he suppresses this desire for years, until it comes back as a desire for the time when he had the freshness and vibrancy of life - when he was a young child, and the world was entirely new to his eyes and full of discovery and adventure.

Well you are half right. This is just a visual reference. His actual profile it written up on F-list. The chipped tail bone is usually his go to excuse rather than flat out admitting that he has a diaper fetish. Of course I own an actual skeleton, and I have had to keep a good seat for him to prevent chipping. Not to mention if you've ever played the Pathfinder RPG a completely skeletal lich can still drink potions to full effect. They just have to deal with the side effects.
