Oh yeah, and this one is even older. It was made for the Ironclaw books, back in the day.
Heh, he's also shown in profile. I'll make another with a different point of view.

Come to think of it, I hadn't seen one myself, either.
Anybody know of an earlier camel fur appearance?
Nothing's new under the sun, so I don't expect to have
broken new territory, I'm just curious what the lineage
of the idea is.
I have to say, I was commissioned to make this as part
of a series of images for the Ironclaw books. Which is to
say it wasn't even my initial idea, I was asked to make it
by rafferty, so he would get credit for the idea, if
not the execution. I wouldn't have thought of it myself,
that's for sure.

Lol thats so nice that you go into giving credit. ill tell you i have NEVER seen a camel anthro--i havent been "IN THE FANDOM" for very long (not really now but you know w/e) but even before simply browsing the internets, which holds everything--no camel! they look neat though all anthrofied!
Earlier than 2000? Not unless The Camel with Wrinked Knees counts. After that however, there is Davina, and another Gideon drew, but that other is based off Joe.
This is one of the first times that I can actually see the camel standing up like a normal human being and take the character of what its supposed to be.
The little design on the top really makes me think about what I want to do with line now.
Your posts are so unique dude, this is definitely worthwhile to watch you.

Bunnies vs Camels You might find this interesting, couldn't help but think of it when I saw this picture. Those who aren't into violence might want to avoid this video.

Always loved the anatomy on this. You had, and still have, a really unique way of pulling off a balance between animal and humanoid anatomy while still making it seem perfectly believable and consistent with its own make-believe world, which a lot of people have trouble with. This one's a really good example of that.
